Mike Bronder

Mike sat in his first single 40 years ago (when he was 12), and has been rowing competitively since he was 14. His approach to team rowing is simple… “Some days you need the team, and some days the team needs you. It’s usually the same day.”

Through high school Mike rowed at St. John’s in Shrewsbury, with a summer sessions at Craftsbury Sculling Center, and later rowed at UMass Amherst for the famed Cook Kumlin. More recently he joined the Greater Lawrence Competitive Masters team, and his boats have medaled in many of the regional races throughout New England over the last 5 years.

Mike has coached both youth, collegiate, and Masters rowing over the last 40 years, including at St. Mark’s High School, Greater Lawrence Rowing, and UMass Lowell. He is a board member and outreach liaison for the Northeast Erg Sprints. He will also beat you at ping pong.
