Michael Cofone began rowing in 2012 during his Freshman year of high school at Christian Brothers Academy. After graduation Mike continued to row in England. While part of the Oxford Brookes team, the squad won every competition in Europe including the Head of the River, the Royal Henley Regatta, Holland Beker, and challenges against the Great Britain Senior Men’s crews. During this time Mike trained as a member of the US national team until the lightweight 4- event was removed from the Olympics.
Since then Mike has coached at a number of clubs including two Oxford colleges, St Hilda’s and Lincoln, as well as Princeton National Rowing Association and Carnegie Boat Club. Throughout this time Mike was part of JL Rowing’s ambassador program, consulted with 7Seas Rowing Club members and founders, utilized telemetry systems, and worked closely through university recruiting processes.
