“Coach K” came to rowing as an adult in 2012. From her first day in a boat, she fell in love with the sport. She took all opportunities to get involved from that moment on: racing, supporting team efforts like fundraising and recruitment, working in club administration, volunteering at other regattas, and coaching. Rowing has become central to all aspects of her life.
After receiving her degree in Environmental Engineering Science from MIT, Jody had a successful engineering career before earning her M.Ed. in secondary science education and teaching middle school science. She transitioned to coaching professionally in 2017 obtaining her US Rowing Level II certification.
“Coach K” is an avid outdoor enthusiast. When not in a shell she enjoys road cycling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, swimming, and walking her two greyhounds. In addition, she continues to compete as a masters rower having participated in over 30 regattas, big and small, sprint and head races. She looks forward to sharing her zeal for rowing and helping our novices to “get fit, go fast, and have fun.”
