Greater Lawrence Rowing varsity rower Sophia Alexandrou has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to attend and row for Franklin Pierce University, located in Rindge, New Hampshire, starting in the Fall of 2016. Alexandrou, a senior at Windham High School, in Windham, New Hampshire, chose Franklin Pierce for not only its academics and athletics but also it’s close community. “I enjoy having that close bond with the girls on GLR and I hope to find that at FPU as well,” says Alexandrou. “The competitive spirit within the sport is exciting and makes rowing enjoyable and pushes me to do my best every day on and off the water.”
In addition to rowing, Sophia has achieved a second degree black belt in karate, and enjoys playing the piano.
